Have you been looking for a way to connect your family.... connect WITH your family, or maybe even connect with yourself?  Have you been

going from place to place, door to door, one Google search result after another, yearning for the solution to find harmony within your household... to find ways to bond and strengthen your family and prepare your kids for the future, all while trying not to lose touch with yourself?

You have finally been granted your wish, this is the place where all your wholesome family dreams come true!

We are Back In Touch and we help families of all shapes and sizes, to develop essential life skills, that will set you up to find your inner self and relish who that person really is, to help your kids find their inner leader and develop their talents and abilities, and deepen your bond as a family, all by working alongside a horse!

WHY HORSES?

We work with horses for many reasons, but first and foremost is the fact that horses are prey animals that consistently react to stimuli. An individual’s feelings or body language will cause the horse to react in various ways. This reaction then offers teachable moments, allowing the individual to develop and learn valuable life skills, in a fun and engaging way.

Most people are drawn to horses due to their majestic and noble manner, this engages participants, and keeps them learning. Horses are large and in some cases intimidating, therefore working alongside a 1200 lb animal, people develop self-esteem and confidence with success. Horses level the playing field by assisting groups to learn to work together, they don’t care what you look like, or what you say, only what your intention is. The non-judgemental awareness of the horse allows it to discern between calm or nervous energy. If the individual changes, the horse will respond clearly, the same way, every time. Horses do not lie.

Horses live in herds which are similar to human life. Therefore skills developed alongside the horse can be paralleled back to everyday life. Horses demand leadership, which encourages individuals to believe in themselves, and develop leadership skills. Horses are amazing teachers that cannot be fooled.

HOW?

Horses can magnify an individual’s problem immediately and provide a skilled facilitator with the opportunity to identify an individual’s character. Horses don’t over think a participant’s motive, but horses do challenge their behaviour and leadership.

WHAT IS (EAL) EQUINE ASSISTED LEARNING?

To put it simply, EAL is a learner based educational experience with horses. More specifically, EAL is an effective approach to human development that encourages individual and team growth. Participants engage in objectively driven exercises and find themselves learning valuable life skills in a fun and exciting atmosphere while working with horses. EAL has proven to be effective, powerful, positive, educational, and creative. This program emphasizes it’s BuildingBlock™ curriculum of facilitating life skills through positively reinforced interaction with horses. Exercises are developed to encourage self-confidence through validated, hands-on experiences. Current research has found this experiential form of learning to be most effective.
